The Lincoln Navigator has best-in-class towing – capable of hauling up to 9,000 pounds.navigator-multistate-4 And the 6-speed automatic transmission with tow/haul mode helps keep you from gaining too much speed when towing downhill. And going up? It helps the engine stay in its power band so that you can keep your momentum. Standard trailer sway control works with traction control to monitor vehicle motion, and to help give you peace of mind.

The Lincoln Navigator is one of the very few full-size SUVs engineered with an independent multilink rear suspension (IRS) system that enables each wheel to negotiate bumps and jolts on its own terms, providing enhanced ride quality and control.
Superior ride and handling aren’t the only benefits. The Navigator IRS features our patented “porthole-in-frame” design in which steel halfshafts pass through elliptical portholes in the frame. This design allows for a lower and fully flat load floor, increased passenger and cargo volume, a lower rear ride height for enhanced aerodynamics, plus a lower step-in height to help make getting in and out easier.navigator-multistate-5

If you stop while climbing a steep hill, the standard hill start assist feature automatically holds the brake on an incline to help prevent backward roll when switching your foot from the brake to the gas. This is especially helpful when towing big loads.
Conversely, when going downhill you need available Hill Descent Control. To activate it, push the Hill Descent Control button, press the brake once to set the desired speed and hold the steering wheel. Then the system applies brake pressure as needed to descend grades at a controlled speed.
